The uncertainty about a variable is often summarized in terms of three numbers: A low, medium and high estimate. Typically, these numbers are three fractiles in the probability distribution of the variable. When analyzing the results of a simulation, these fractiles appear in tables, plot legends, contingency calculations etc.
Each time you open a simulation data file, the set of fractiles is initialized according to a default setting. All variables in the file, i.e., the “data nodes”, will have fractiles calculated based on these settings. It is not possible to choose fractile sets individually for each “data node”.
If for some reason you want to use a different fractile set, you can change this temporarily by using the “Fractiles…” command. The new fractile set will then be used until you close the file, or change the settings again.
Note that you can change the default set of fractiles by using the “Data file options…” command of the “Preferences” submenu in the “File menu”.
